SuperBowl XXXIX, betting, and GAs
While waiting to overeat, overcommercial, and overwatch the spectacle called the Superbowl, I was thinking about genetic algorithms and football, and a quick googlie later I found the site aiBET that uses a genetic algorithm to make football betting predictions. Unfortunately, the betting is of the round ball kind and not the olive ball of American football. On the other hand, the ROI of aiBET on the English Championship since October 2004 is -13%, so perhaps a coin toss to determine your choice Eagles v. Patriots would do just as well. Ward Systems software is being used for betting apparently, and some claim somewhat better results. Client Paul Smith claims to hit 75-80% on regular and substantial betting activity. Neuroshell predictor uses a combine of neural networks and GAs.
