Yesterday, ATA Engineering announced the release of version 1.0 of the Attune package for test-analysis correlation and model updating. According to the company the package

provides a suite of powerful, easy-to-use tools for rapidly comparing test and analysis models and automatically optimizing analysis models to correlate closely with test data. Users can correlate analysis models and test data based on mode shapes, modal frequencies, modal assurance criteria (MAC), or various combinations of these.

In addtion to genetic algorithms, the software includes other optimization routines for model tuning, including Monte Carlo, unconstrained quadratic minimization, and gradient-based procedures. The package is compatible with a number of aerospace industry standard analysis tools, including NX Nastran and MSC Nastran(R), ABAQUS(R), I-deas(R) NX, and MTS(R) I-DEASPro(TM) Test software. In beta-testing, the tool proved to be a test productivity boost:

In beta testing, a key aerospace customer used Attune to carry out hundreds of real-time correlation iterations during modal testing of a launch vehicle payload, whereas prior to this they were limited to less than a dozen manual correlations a week.
